Liz Six is a Supervisee in Social Work and a native to Richmond. Liz has experience working with a wide array of clients including, adults, children, families, and individuals diagnosed with developmental/intellectual disabilities. Liz aspires to create a safe space and meet clients where they are, with a focus on developing a holistic understanding of individual needs. Her personal and professional experiences have built a therapist who leads with compassion and empathy
but will still push you to build skills and relationships that support positive mental health. Liz is committed to breaking down barriers to mental health care and advocating for needed support in the work, school, and home environments. She believes that teamwork in the therapeutic space leads to client independence and ensures that the client is a decision-maker in their treatment.

Liz has experience working with individuals ages 2-75 experiencing a variety of challenges including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, ADHD/ADD, trauma, ASD, school behaviors, parenting, substance use, domestic violence, and mental health crises.
Treatment Modalities
Liz utilizes a holistic approach to best develop an understanding of client needs, including a person-centered approach, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), TF-CBT (trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy), play therapy, and breathwork. Liz encourages mindfulness and open communication in all sessions to promote healthy communication and self-awareness.
